Academic Profile

Since 2022 I have been a Senior Academic Councilor at the Ludwig Uhland Institute, where I have been working as a researcher since 2014. As a Senior Academic Councilor, my teaching and research interests include regional cultural studies in relation to current processes of social change, including material and visual culture. I also support the Institute in the acquisition of third-party funding and set my own priorities in this area, in particular through the creation of a knowledge landscape of popular and everyday culture in Baden-Württemberg. In addition, I am the curator of the Institute's Archive of Everyday Culture, the managing director of the Tübingen Association for Empirical Cultural Studies with the EKW publishing house, and the Institute's equal opportunities officer.
I completed my PhD in 2014 with a dissertation on the production and transmission of cultural knowledge using the example of carnival research at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology at the University of Göttingen, where I also worked as a research assistant from 2009 to 2013.
I completed my studies in Empirical Cultural Studies, Modern German Literature and Political Science at the University of Tübingen in 2008 with a master's thesis on the culture of remembrance of the Deutsche Mark.
