LEAD Graduate School & Research Network

Karoline Mikus, M.A.

I am interested in the mechanisms behind educational inequality. My research examines strategies of highly educated families to secure their children’s advantages in the educational system. In order to answer this question, I draw on research from sociology, psychology and educational sciences. Methodologically, my research is primarily quantitative in nature.

The LEAD Graduate School and Research Network provides me the perfect surrounding for my interdisciplinary oriented PhD project. I enjoy the scientific diversity and expertise of the LEAD Graduate School and Research Network members. The atmosphere is very supportive and supervisors are met very regularly. Further, I appreciate that the structured programs allows you to stay focused and to present your research to each other in regular intervals.
