Culture of sustainability at universities - transfer phase (KuNaH-T)

Real-life experiments in transformative learning and research processes for a culture of sustainability at universities

In its first funding phase, the joint project Culture of Sustainability at Universities (KuNaH) developed concepts for Cultures of Sustainability (CoS) at universities, conducted empirical research, and tested these concepts in real-world experiments. The project KuNaH-T will broaden and consolidate CoS activities at the University of Tübingen (UT). The promotion of a Culture of Sustainability is to be explicitly implemented as a strategic goal in the UT's sustainability strategy, which is currently being developed, and thus also pursued on a permanent basis at the governance level.

The Project

During the transfer phase, KuNaH-T aims to consolidate the results and instruments developed in KuNaH at its own universities and make them accessible and usable for other universities. The project is pursuing a comprehensive transfer approach that focuses on communication, exchange, networking, and relationship building, particularly with ten partner universities. KuNaH-T proposes five transfer modules with corresponding measures and products:
1. Culture of Sustainability (CoS) attachés – multipliers promote KdN at their university,
2. Self-evaluation tool – assessment of the university's own Sustainability Culture,
3. CoS toolbox – digital instruments for information and inspiration,
4. Guideline to support informal CoS transformation processes,
5. Consolidation of CoS at the partner universities & knowledge mobilization in university policy networks.
