Context-conscious learning environment for education and training
Vocational education and training often takes place in specially designed environments in which abstract knowledge is taught without direct practical relevance and without adaptation to individual learning behaviour. So far, adaptive systems that offer personalized solutions for hands-on learning have been rarely used. The BMBF-funded KoBeLU project aims at the development of adaptive cognitive assistance systems, which should be applied particularly in (educational) contexts. The fundamental point here is that technologies such as emotion recognition, augmented reality and gamification should ensure the learner's success and motivation. From an ethical point of view, the project raises questions about the autonomy of people in human-technology interaction, in addition to questions of data protection and privacy.
