Application and admission for international students

You would like to earn a Bachelor- or Master-Degree at the University of Tübingen and intend to submit an application?

Application procedure

International students have to apply via our application portals. (Only applicants applying for subsequent, i.e. higher semesters have to send in applications by post).

Application deadlines

All Bachelor courses and most of the Master courses

  • For the Winter semester (starts in October) July 15th *
  • For the Summer semester (starts in April) January 15th

* Due to the Corona pandemic the application period for the Winter semester 2020 will in all probability be extended from July 2nd until August 20, 2020.

Language requirements

The list of courses available [Link ID 344] also specifies the language of instruction. When applying for courses with German as language of instruction proficiency in the German language has to be documented. For courses taught in English several language certificates are obligatory.

Higher education entrance qualification

Upon application the exam results of your higher education will be checked by the University and converted into the German grading system. The reference data base anabin of the Kultusministerkonferenz (The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education of the Länder in Germany) allows you to check the validity of your qualifications in advance. Final authority of approval rests with the University.

Admmission and Enrollment (Immatriculation)

If your application was successful, you will receive a letter of admission. You have to present this letter of admission at the University in order to enroll.
