Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS)

The “Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS)” project is developing an open-source teaching and learning environment for pupils and teachers at general education schools across Germany. AIS aims to make high-quality, adaptive learning accessible to all students—regardless of background or prior attainment—thereby strengthening educational equity.

The platform encompasses adaptive learning pathways, an AI-powered tutoring system for students, and an intelligent lesson-planning recommendation system for teachers. TüCeDE contributes its expertise at the intersection of educational research, subject didactics, and digital innovation. Researchers at TüCeDE help ensure that AIS is grounded in current evidence—including research on self-regulated learning and feedback—and that research-based concepts are translated into a system that works in real-world classroom settings.

AIS is developed within a national consortium led by Assecor GmbH and KI macht Schule gGmbH, commissioned by the FWU Institut für Film und Bild in Wissenschaft und Unterricht gGmbH and the German federal states.
