Project
G03 – Istria

Project within the CRC 923

Project G03 examines the history of "Hibridism", a category of order first described by Austro-Hungarian researchers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries using Istria as a model case (2nd funding period). Around the threatening disintegration of Yugoslavia, the regional order of the multilingual and multicultural peninsula has been redefined several times and with reference to older experiences. From the laboratory of Istria, a genealogy of hybridity is developed in G03.

Research interests

  • Micro- and regional history of Yugoslavia and Croatia in the 20th and 21st century
  • Yugoslavian guest worker soccer in Württemberg
