Tübingen one of the world's most productive locations for Educational Psychology

LEAD co-director Ulrich Trautwein among the most productive researchers internationally

The University of Tübingen has become one of the world's most productive sites for Educational Psychology, ranking fourth in the global rankings in a recent evaluation published by the journal Educational Psychology Review, making it the only German research institution to make it into the top 20. The foundation of this success is the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network along with the close partnership with the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM).

In the evaluation, which analyzed the productivity of individual researchers based on publications in the five leading journals in the field, LEAD co-director Ulrich Trautwein ranked second worldwide and first when six leading journals were taken into account. Other Education Researchers from Tübingen also made it into the ranking. Benjamin Nagengast makes the top 12 and LEAD International Distinguished Professor Tamara van Gog comes in 7th. In the evaluation on the productivity of young researchers, LEAD alumna Hanna Gaspard ranks 4th; Eike Wille, another LEAD alumna, is also listed among the 25 most productive researchers.

For the ranking, the authors compared how often the researchers served as (co)authors of articles in the journals Cognition and Instruction, Contemporary Educational Psychology, Educational Psychologist, Educational Psychology Review, Journal of Educational Psychology, and, in supplemental analyses, Learning and Instruction from 2015 to 2021.
