Requirements and application

If you intend to apply from WS 20/21, the new admission regulations already apply to you. Information on the central procedure (study programs Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary medicine) can be found on the website Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung.

There are different quotas:

Advance selection quota: Up to two-tenths of the available study places are distributed to certain applicant groups. These are: Hardship cases, foreigners, second degree applicants as well as applicants who have committed themselves on the basis of corresponding regulations (e.g. German Armed Forces) to exercise their profession in areas of special public need.

Baccalaureate quota:  30% of the available study places are allocated through this quota. The score shown in the  university entrance qualification result is the selection criterion. The subordinate criterion is to have performed a service for the community and the lot. However, since there are differences in the university entrance qualification grades depending on the federal state, 16 state quotas are formed first, one quota per federal state. For example, if you graduated from high school in Baden-Württemberg, you will be on the state list for BW along with all other graduates from Baden-Württemberg. The ranking of the candidates on the individual lists is established according to the criteria of score, service and lot. The ranking of the candidates on the individual lists is established according to the criteria of score, service and lot. Once the 16 state lists have been drawn up, a mathematical procedure is used to combine them into a federal list for the whole of Germany. This gives each candidate on the federal list a unique position number. Based on these, you will be ranked at the specific university you have choosen to a certain rank. .

Based on these, you will be ranked within the list of the specific university you have choosen. Which study locations you have chosen in your application is irrelevant for the ranking position. The study places are then allocated to the applicants on the basis of the ranking positions.

Additional suitability quota: 10% of the available study places are allocated through this quota. In the transitional period (presumably until the application for WS 2022/23!), the study places in this quota in Tübingen will be allocated according to the same criteria as in the last main quota, the university selection procedure.

Selection procedure of the University: with a share of 60%, most study places are finally awarded with this selection. Within this selection procedure, universities can apply various criteria. These are for the Pharmacy program at the University of Tübingen:

1. Result of university entrance qualification (points): 60 out of 100 points
2. Result of the subject-specific study aptitude test PhaST: 30 out of 100 points
3. Completed vocational training in a recognized training occupation (Annex 6 HZVO): 5 out of 100 points
4. Special services (Annex 7 HZVO): 2 out of 100 points
5. Special awards (Annex 7 HZVO): 3 out of 100 points

Here you can find the admission procedere.

NC-Values

Apart from the university entrance qualification, there are no formal admission requirements.

In Baden-Württemberg, with enrollment in an undergraduate degree program there is an obligation to provide proof of participation in a study orientation procedure.

International applicants *without* a German-language university entrance qualification must provide proof of German language proficiency in accordance with the university's matriculation regulations (see also information on proof of linguistic study ability / DSH language test).

The language of study and examination is German. A good knowledge of English is expected for the study of literature. Therefore, knowledge of English is required. However, formal proof of English proficiency is not required. German language skills to the extent of DSH-2 (Testdaf4) are required for international students.

International applicants *without* a German-language university entrance qualification must provide evidence of German language proficiency in accordance with the university's matriculation regulations (see also information on proof of linguistic study ability / DSH language test).

This is a so-called "mono-course of study", i.e. the study is in one scientific subject.

Parallel studies are excluded!
