Projektbeschreibung

My PhD project focuses on colloidal two-dimensional (2D) infrared quantum emitters and their potential as innovative single photon emitters at room temperature. The near-infrared (NIR) and shortwave-infrared region (SWIR) is of particular interest for telecommunication applications and has so far been insufficiently covered by efficiently emitting materials. Therefore, we aim to develop novel 2D nanoplatelets with precisely tailored optoelectronic properties in the NIR/SWIR region. For this, we combine wet chemical synthesis with insights from spectroscopic measurements such as photoluminescence and transient absorption spectroscopy.
