Ecotoxicological effects and risk evaluation of pollutants

In the collaborative project within the Water Network Baden-Württemberg we investigate the complex interaction (networks) for selected trace organic compounds (antidiabetic and neuroactive drugs, artificial sweeteners) with the aim to reduce effects. The network results from compound occurrence in the environment, biological effects, use pattern and measures to control the use and consumption. In this context our focus is on the identification and occurrence of transformation products in the environment and in ecotoxicological test systems and organisms used. Electrochemical and lab-scale experiments are used in combination with nontarget and target screening approaches.
