Qubur al-Walaydah (Israel)

Dr. Simone Riehl

Qubur al-Walaydah is a Late Bronze to Iron Age rural settlement site at the transition from the coast in the west and steppe in the east. Main research foci are contacts and relationships between farming socities and nomads and how they are reflected in the material culture at the border of rain-fed agriculture.

It is a joint project of the Universities of Leipzig, Rostock, and Ben-Gurion-Universität Beer Sheva/Israel.

Archaeobotanical research started in 2009.
