The SFB-‐ViCoM on Computational Material Science funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) invites applications for
in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Tübingen. We offer a stimulating environment to pursue research projects focused on the
development, implementation and application of a novel many-‐body method at the interface of electronic structure theory and the quantum many-body physics of effective low-energy models. In particular, the proposed project involves functional renormalization-group based approaches developed within our group and the SFB-ViCoM, where the expertise of the participating researchers ranges from ab initio methods to many-body approaches.
Prospective candidates should hold a master degree in physics and have a strong interest in theoretical condensed matter physics and computational modeling. A background in advanced quantum many-body methods is desirable but not compulsory. We offer a 3-year doctoral research positions (75% TV-L E13), starting immediately.
