Heteronuclear Mixtures of Cold Atoms

We explore strongly correllated mixtures of rubidium and lithium atoms. By means of photoassociative ionization, density correlation properties are observed in situ with fast temporal resolution and single atom sensitivity. Currrently we focus on hetronuclear Efimov type few body physics.

Cold Atoms in Optical Ring Resonators

Ultra cold atoms interact with the light stored in an optical ring resonator. Cavity mediated long range interaction between the atoms are used to tailor nonlinear many-body quantum systems. Current topics are the DIcke phase transition, subradiance and supersolid behavior.
