Neuroscience Laboratory technician/Engineer (100%)

at the earliest convenience.

Depending on the individual requirements, a salary up to TV-L E11 can be realized (German Public Service salary, permanent position).

Who we are:

We use both theoretical and experimental approaches to investigate sensory and sensory motor transforms in the brain. Our multidisciplinary approaches involve theoretical hypotheses making, model building, behavioral experiments on humans and animals, and neuroscience experiments to examine brain’s neural activities. One part of our group is located in the University, in Center for Integrative Neuroscience, and the other part is in the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics as the department of sensory and sensorimotor systems, see This job opening for a technician/laboratory engineer is for the sub-group in the university focusing on behavioral, electrophysiological, and imaging experiments on rodents.

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Histology - doing immunohistochemistry, mounting sections,  etc
  • Basic animal training/habituation, etc
  • Assisting scientists in preparations for experiments.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

Laboratory Engineer (Laboringenieur) or a comparable education (for example, Bachelor’s degree in biology/ previous experience as a lab technician would be a plus).
