Gaurav Lamichhane is a PhD candidate in Department of Anthropology at the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg. His research title is “Involuntary Childlessness in Nepal: plural healing practices, masculinity, male-infertility, and healing journey of Nepali men.” He completed MA in South Asian Studies in 2016 from the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg. His MA thesis focused on the ethnographic study of Tibetan clinics and the practice of Tibetan medicine in Kathmandu, Nepal where he hails from. He has BA in Biology (minor in Philosophy) from Wabash College, Indiana, USA. From 2006-2008, he attended graduate program in life sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also took a graduate level course, “Health as a Human Right,” at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA in 2008.
