Workshop zum Thema "Imagination"

Imagination and Imaginings.

Perspectives from the Philosophy of Mind

Workshop, November 5-6, 2010

Universität Tübingen, Germany

This workshop is dedicated to the philosophical investigation of the

imagination as a mental capacity and the nature of imaginings. We would like

to concentrate on the following key issues: Can we formulate a unified

theory of imaginings and what would such a theory look like? What is the

nature and common feature of all and only imaginings? What is the impact of

such a theory on the architecture of the mind, on the relation of

imaginability, conceivability and possibility, and on the debate about

mental imagery?
