Dataset on Confidence-Building Measures
The Dataset on Confidence-Building Measures contains data on 303 treaties and international organizations that have been identified as Confidence-Building Measures and were coded on a five-point scale of expected effectiveness. Data on CBMs were generated for all dyad-years between 1945 and 2006 in dyads with a history of interstate rivalry.

The following spreadsheet provides a more in depth look at our data and the data generation method behind it. It contains the full title of all the CBMs in the dataset, a quote of the part of the document that was crucial for coding on the five-point scale and the URL of the source or sources we used for coding.
