Felix Berenskoetter is Senior Lecturer at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before joining SOAS, he held positions at the Department of War Studies, King‘s College London and at the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding, Dartmouth College.
Berenskoetter specializes in international theory and concept analysis (identity, power, security, peace history) with an empirical focus on European Security, German foreign policy and transatlantic relations. He also serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Global Security Studies, is co-convenor of the „Interpretivism in International Relations“ BISA Working Group and is founder of the Theory Section of the International Studies Association (ISA).
He is editor of Concepts in World Politics (Sage, 2016) and has contributed articles to the International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Common Market Studies and Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen, among others.
