Tanja Börzel is Professor of Political Science and Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration at the Freie Universität Berlin, as well as Director of the Center for European Integration and the Center of Excellence "The EU and its Citizens“. She received her PhD from the European University Institute in Florence in 1999.
Her research agenda covers the topics of the institutional theory and Governance, European Integration, and Comparative Politics with a focus on Western and Southern Europe, dealing mainly with the questions of institutional change as a result of Europeanization as well as the diffusion of European ideas and policies within and outside of the EU.
She is currently working on the monographs Non-Compliance in the European Union (Cornell University Press), and Governance without Hierarchy (with Thomas Risse) (Cambridge University Press). Her recent publications include Oxford Handbook of Comparative Regionalism (co-ed. with Thomas Risse) (OUP, 2016), Governance Transfer by Regional Organizations (ed.) (Palgrave, 2015), and Business and Climate Change Governance. South Africa in Comparative Perspective (co-ed. with Ralph Haman) (Palgrave, 2013).Zurück
