Dr. Petra Ahrens, Tampere University, is Research Fellow at the Academy of Finland. Her research project "On the road to gender-sensitiv parliaments? Gender Equality and Democratic Practices in the Finnish, German and Polish Parliament Compared (GSParls)". Her research interests focus on equality policy in the EU and Germany, transnational civil society and equaltiy policies in parliaments and political parties. Her work is published inter alia in American Political Science Review, West European Politics, Party Politics. Recently,  her book (co-edited with Johanna Kantola and Anna Elomäki) “European Parliament’s Political Groups in Turbulent Times“ was published by Palgrave Macmillan).
