Short Bio

Markus Pudelko earned masters degrees in business studies (Dipl.-Kfm.) from the University of Cologne; in economics (Maitrîse ès Sciences Economiques) from Sorbonne University, Paris; in International Management (MIM) from the Community of European Management Schools – CEMS; and a PhD in business studies (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Cologne.
Before joining Tübingen University Markus Pudelko held positions at the University of Edinburgh Business School, first as lecturer, subsequently as senior lecturer and ultimately as reader. Before that he was research assistant at the University of Cologne; did his PhD at the University of Cologne and doctoral research at Stanford University and Sophia University, Tokyo; and studied business (University of Cologne); international management (Bocconi University, Milan and University of Cologne); economics (Sorbonne University, Paris); and political sciences (Evergreen Valley College (San José, CA, USA).

Research Interests

His research interests include subsidiary-headquarters relations, international strategic HRM, convergence vs. divergence of (HR) management practices, impact of language on international business, multinational teams, comparative HRM, Japanese management, Chinese management and cross-cultural management.
