German Geography (08-01-04)

This was one interesting day we ever had in Germany; having got to have a wonderful opportunity to know more about interesting German Geography.
First, we were tusked, in groups, by our wonderful teacher to look at magazines and spot anything we knew about Germany, stick to a paper chart; then say something about it. That was to be in all wises; sports and recreation, industry e.g. the most familiar one is automobile industry and almost everyone had something on this one, food type, etc.
Right after that we had map puzzle pieces, which we had to complete, on our desks. The tricky part of it was; it had but on both sides map drawings, one side a geographical map and on the other side a political map. And one is surprised why we had to complete them on the political side because that was a geography class. Oh you will never understand teachers unless you are one.
From our completed political German maps, we had to match States to Cities, and we all did wow go South Africans shosholoooooooza.
Some other questions were asked based on the map and when I asked the group if they had any comment; they all look at me with those beautiful smiles on their faces and said at once:” Piece of cake!!!!”.
It was then that we had some important things, about each State of Federal Germany, told to us. The teacher gave us some little notes, with some important things about German States, to read to the class. One by one we did, nice and smooth.

German geography is really interesting, it show a sense of being an organised state to have your international airport located at the centre of the country; making a well located gateway for travellers, so that it will much cheaper for them to travel even distances to whichever part of the country they wish to go to from the gateway.
