German Class I - Beginners

by Muzi. A. Khuzwayo

After a long guided tour through Tübingen with Marion and Nicki, it was then our German class, the advanced and intermediate students in German language were already selected from us. To be honest, I expected our first German class to be boring, serious, long and intimidating.

Well, I guess my expectations were all wrong except the fact that it was a foreign language- in a foreign country. Everything was so amazing, the lecturer (Ms Eva Muré) was so energetic and full of enthusiasm in such a way that her lecture was so alive. The techniques she used in teaching us German (Deutsch) were so brilliant. She used pictures, included some games, encouraged us to interact in Deutsch and she was so open to questions which made the lecture/ class even more interesting. And the other most interesting part was the moment in which we were attempting to call out some German words e.g. 'Entschuldigung', 'fantastisch', 'wunderbar', 'schlecht' and so on.

By the end of the lesson, everyone was more relaxed, comfortable, enjoying the class and more than willing to learn some new words.
