Our
trip to Ulm
a
report written by Chantelle Clohessy
1,2,3...up
the stairs we go of the highest church steeple in the world. This
is how our day in Ulm started; with a visit to the spectacular
Ulmer Munster. Although only some of us found the endurance to
conquer the mighty stairs, we were richly rewarded with a breathtaking
view of Ulm from the 70m mark.
Besides visiting the cathedral we were treated to an insightful
talk by a representative of the Green Party in Ulm. We also had
a visit to the local newspaper, Sudwest Presse, where we learnt
about the newspaper industry. Thank you to Sudwest Presse for
the hospitable manner in which we were received and for the wonderful
goodie bags.
It was such
a great honour going to Ulm, the birthplace of Albert Einstein.
He was such a great man as he was able to look deeper into how
things work. I have studied his work in Physics during my science
degree and now, thanks to this trip, I have a greater appreciation
for his work and his contribution to the scientific world. Thank
you to everyone for making this day happen. It was a wonderful
experience and I will never forget it.
