Meet and Greet Exchange Students from Maryland, USA

Report: "Meeting the Americans" by Nyane Macdonald Ezekiel Mofokeng

Meeting the American cultural exchange students from the University of Maryland was a fantastic experience. From the different conversations that were ongoing in the hall one got a sense of the diversity of the two cultures all embodied under one umbrella, that of enquisitive minds ready and willing to learn more about the other. Almost depicting the rainbow nation back home in Mzantsi.
In that short space of time we managed to make friends, learn about our diverse cultures, and hopefully we managed to impart into each other the spirit of "UBUNTU" that even though we are seperated by borders, we are all derived from the same soil.
Someone once wrote "Twenty years from now you will be more dissapointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. EXPLORE: DREAM. DISCOVER."
From my side and the rest of Team SA Tübingen its been an adventure, a dream comes true as well as a discovery, but most importantly SELF-DISCOVERY.
All of what we've experienced thus far has been memorable, a memory only deepened by appreciation. Tübingen is surely going to leave footprints in the sandy walkways of our hearts. We hope for it continue on impacting lives and changing futures.
