Welcome to Tübingen
South Africa Program
The Tübingen South Africa Program takes place in January of each year and is hosted by Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in southern Germany. It is a cultural and language program for South African students that aims to expose them to German language and culture and bring about closer ties and understanding between the two countries.
The students will spend a month in Tübingen in a program designed to provide a broad spectrum of knowledge in a wide variety of subjects – language, seminars in history, politics, literature, economics, culture, etc. as well as factory visits and excursions to nearby sights. Established in the year 2000 the program is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg and other sponsors. The participants are students from South African universities situated in our partner provinces: Gauteng, KwaZuluNatal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape.
