Final Exams – Procedure for Admission and Submission of Thesis

General information

The following information is an (non-binding) English version thereof.

All e-mail correspondence of the examinations office will be to your student.uni-tuebingen.de address!

Bachelor of Education

  • Download the form Application for Admission to the Bachelor Thesis, fill it out and hand it in at the Service Office of the Examination Office (Zi 207). As long as the Service Office remains closed pls send it by mail scanned as a PDF file to the   examination office.
    Important: In case of subjects with a specialization (English, History, Russian), please indicate this specialization (e.g. "I apply for admission to the Bachelor thesis in the subject English (Literary Studies") or "... in the subject History (Modern History)").
  • The PA assistant in charge will check the admission requirements. If these are met, the assistant will admit you to the bachelor thesis. You will be informed by mail (student mail address!) that you can pick up your admission at the PA service office
  • Pick up your admission at the service office and present it to your examiner. He/she will enter his/her name, the topic of the paper as well as the date of the topic and the date of submission on the form and sign it.
  • Important: The topic written on the paper (title of the paper) must be identical to the topic written on your admission.
  • Important: Only university lecturers (professors and junior professors) and post-doctoral lecturers (private lecturers and non-scheduled professors) are eligible to take examinations. If the desired examiner does not belong to these groups of persons, he/she must take care of an examination authorization by applying to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Studies and Teaching.
  • Hand in the authorization again at the service office of the PA. The assistant in charge  will then register your work in alma as "admitted", you do not have to do this yourself.
  • The processing period of 5 weeks does not begin until the day the topic is assigned (date on the admission).
  • On the day of submission at the latest, hand in a printed copy of the paper to your examiner and at the same time send a PDF file of your paper to ba-arbeitenspam prevention@philosophie.uni-tuebingen.de.
    The pdf version:
    - must be identical to the printed version
    - must contain the antiplagiarism statement
    - must consist of only one file
    - must be sent directly (no link to a cloud, dropdown or similar)
    Important: the antiplagiarism statement must be signed in both copies.
  • The grade report is sent in writing by the examiner to the examination office (by internal mail or as a scanned form by e-mail to paspam prevention@philosophie.uni-tuebingen.de, after which the grade is posted in alma.

Bachelor of Arts

  • Students need to contact the BA thesis supervisor/examiner and and agree on a topic.
  • The supervisor will set the deadline for submission of the thesis
  • The supervisor will determine if the student needs to submit a printed copy or a pdf-version or both. If a printed copy is requested, this can be handed over at the secretariat (room 553) during regular opening hours.
  • On the day of submission a pdf-version needs to be mailed to the exam office: ba-arbeitenspam prevention@philosophie.uni-tuebingen.de

The pdf version:

  • must be identical to the printed version
  • must contain the antiplagiarism statement.
  • must consist of only one file
  • must be sent directly (no link to a cloud, dropdown or similar)

Master of Education

  1. Download the form "Antrag auf Zulassung zur Master-Arbeit im M.Ed.-Studiengang" from the homepage of the examination office, fill it out and send it by mail scanned as a PDF file to the examination office.
     
  2. The responsible assistant will check the admission requirements. If the admission requirements are met, the assistant will admit you to the master thesis. You will be informed by e-mail to your student e-mail address(!) that you have been admitted.
     
  3. The admission will be sent to you by email as a PDF file. Present it to your examiner. He/she will enter his/her name, the topic of the paper as well as the date of the topic and the date of submission on the form and sign it.
    Important: The topic written on the paper (title of the paper) must be identical to the topic written on your admission.
    Important: Only university lecturers (professors and junior professors) and post-doctoral lecturers (private lecturers and non-scheduled professors) are eligible to take examinations.   5. The processing period of 16 weeks does not start until the day the topic is assigned (date on the admission).
     
  6. On the last day of the deadline at the latest, submit 2 printed copies of the master thesis to the examination office and at the same time send a pdf file of your thesis to ma-arbeiten@philosophie.uni-tuebingen.de.

    The pdf version:
    - must be identical to the printed version
    - must contain the antiplagiarism statement
    - must consist of only one file
    - must be sent directly (no link to a cloud, dropdown or similar)
    Important: Make sure that the antiplagiarism declaration is included and signed in all copies.
     
  7. The grade report is sent in writing by the examiner to the examination office (by internal mail or as a scanned form by e-mail to paspam prevention@philosophie.uni-tuebingen.de ), after which the grade is posted in alma.

Master of Arts

Application for a Certificate (B.Ed., M.Ed.)

Students whose final examination documents are issued by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, need to apply for a B.Ed. or M.Ed. Certificate. Please send the form directly to:
