Probral / Capes: “Discomforting Territories: Images, Narratives, and Objects of the Global South“

is a research cooperation project between Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen (EKUT), Germany, funded by the bilateral funding scheme from DAAD and CAPES. The project is directed by Fernando Resende, UFF. The projects research interest concerns concepts of memory and territory as practiced via contemporary art and culture in the Global South. As part of the project, Roberto Robalinho and Renata Gonçalves are staying as post-doctoral researchers at EKUT between october 2019 and august 2020."

MWK Project: Urban subjectivities in Subsaharian Africa / Subjectivités urbaines en Afrique subsaharienne

MWK-Project "Urban subjectivities in Subsaharian Africa / Subjectivités urbaines en Afrique subsaharienne" with

  • Université Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) in Dakar, Senegal
  • Université Félix-Houphouët-Boigny (UFHB) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast
  • University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in Johannesburg, South Africa 
  • Eberhard Karls University Tübingen (EKUT), Germany

Cooperation project  funded by MWK Baden-Württemberg (Ministry of Science, Research and Art of Baden-Württemberg) in the frame of a funding scheme for “long term exchange in science and society with Africa” for the period 2019 - 2021.

This project focusses on

  • developing joint research agendas,
  • developing a joint qualification concept for postgraduates, including video based co-teaching formats and
  • establishing a joint postgraduate certificate on global south studies together with the international partners.

Erasmus+ Partnerships

In the framework of the Global South Network, at the moment we count with three running Erasmus+ Partnerships of 

Eberhard Karls University Tübingen with

  • University with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico 
  • Université Félix-Houphouët-Boigny (UFHB) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast  
  • University of Pretoria, South Africa.

These partnerships allow us to realize additional student and staff mobility (incoming and outgoing).

ISAP – Partnerships

Since 2019 we count with a DAAD funded ISAP-Partnership (international study and capacitation partnerships) between Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen (EKUT), Germany,  that allows us to increase mobility and exchange between EKUT and UFF significantly during the project period 2019 to 2021.
