Viruses are ubiquitous and abundant biological entities on our planet and are present in high abundance in the soil. Still, limited data on viruses' ecological role and importance in soil is available. This research aims to study the effects of soil dynamics on soil microbial composition and phage abundance and how the soil viral community affects biogeochemical cycles and nutrient availability.
