University of Tübingen Participates in the 14th Freiberger Ledertage Conference
Prof. Dr. Thomas Scholten, Chair of Soil Science and Geomorphology at the University of Tübingen, participated in the 14th Freiberger Ledertage, an international conference bringing together experts from academia and industry to discuss current developments and challenges in the leather sector. Held in Münster, Germany, the event welcomed 146 participants from 15 predominantly European countries.
The conference covered a broad range of topics, including sustainability and the circular economy, innovative tanning technologies, regulatory requirements, PFAS and bisphenols, traceability, process monitoring, and AI-supported quality assessment. The scientific program provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss practical approaches to addressing current challenges in the leather industry.
In addition to the scientific sessions, the conference offered valuable opportunities for networking and professional exchange among researchers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders from across Europe. The event once again underscored the importance of international dialogue and collaboration in advancing research and innovation in the leather sector.
