Participation in Ph.D. Course “Econometric Methods in Economics of Education"
From March 23 to 27, 2026, Nadja Gutermann participated in the Leading House Ph.D. course “Econometric Methods in Economics of Education,” held at the University of Zurich. The intensive five-day course, taught by Prof. Dr. Jens Ruhose, introduced key econometric methods with a strong focus on causal inference. Throughout the course, the Ph.D. students applied the tools in hands-on sessions to study human capital formation and returns to education and training.
A particularly valuable aspect of the program was the close exchange among participants. As part of the International Course Program offered by the Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON, Ph.D. students complete all four core courses together as a cohort, fostering continuous collaboration and academic exchange. The second core course in the Leading House program, “Personnel and Labor Economics for Education Economists,” will take place at the end of April 2026.
