The rise of right-wing political parties and ideologies all over the world in the last few decades has come along with a backlash against feminism and queer rights. Public rhetoric in general has increasingly (re-)politicized queer identities, rights, and representation. These dynamics are not restricted to the US, but also manifest themselves in Europe and Germany. Together, our experts will analyze the relationship between the rise of right-wing ideologies and queer rights in the US and Germany today. With Michaela Dudley (Berlin), Katrin Horn (Greifswald), and Ted Richthofen (Tübingen alum), moderated by Astrid Franke (Tübingen). In English.
