Master Thesis

We supervise Master theses related to ongoing work at the chair. Topics may be of empirical or theoretical nature and include

  • (International) Macroeconomics (Prof. Müller)
  • Monetary economics (Prof. Müller)
  • Fiscal policy (Prof. Müller)
  • Open economy macroeconomics (Prof. Müller)
  • DSGE Modelling (Prof. Mutschler)
  • Computational and quantitative methods in macroeconomics (Prof. Mutschler)
  • Macroeconometrics, asymmetric shocks and rare disasters (Prof. Mutschler)

In order to find a suitable topic, you should have successsfully attended courses (and/or the master seminar) that are offered by the team. In this way, you can make sure that you are already familiar with theoretical models and empirical methods that are helpful in successfully writing a Master thesis under supervision of our team.

Procedures

Students must register for their master's thesis using the thesis registration form.

Students should send the completed and signed registration form to the Examination Office by email as a scanned copy.

If the admission requirements are met, the admission letter will be sent by email to the student and to us.
Please then arrange an appointment during office hours. We will discuss the topic of the Master’s thesis together and send the completed form to the Examination Office.
