Short Biography

In 2022 Maria Pfeiffer joined the project "Municipal utilities: participative, social, climate-neutral?" as a research assistant. As part of this project, which is funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation, she is focusing on public utilities and investigating the demands they face in terms of climate and environmental protection, the role of employees in the transformation process, and the potential of municipal enterprises as key players in the course of the socio-ecological transformation.

Previously, Maria Pfeiffer studied sociology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena with a focus on the environment and social transformation. After graduating, she was a research assistant and fellow at the Collaborative Research Center TRR 294 "Structural Change of Property" at the Universities of Jena and Erfurt, where she worked on the change of property relations in the course of the energy transition.
