Text and Idea of Aristotle's Science of Living Things (TIDA)

Nicolás Bamballi

Nicolás joined the department of philosophy at Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, in 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher. Prior to that he worked at the Université catholique de Louvain (2022) and at the Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften (2016–2021).

Within TIDA he works on the subproject concerning the Arabic tradition of Aristotle’s De anima. He is studying the Arabic (incl. the Arabo-Latin and Arabo-Hebrew) tradition of the De anima in order to recover the Greek readings underlying the Arabic translations and thereby assist in the constitution of the Greek text. He is working on a full Graeco-Arabic critical apparatus for the new edition of the De anima.
