Report
on the lessons (January 2003)
The
lessons were based on a variety of subjects, from the German Political
System to German Literature. We as the participants in the programme
are very fortunate of the lectures, we feel very honoured indeed.
For the German Geography lesson Silvia was in charge, Religion
in Germany by Prof. Neef, Modern Europe by Prof. Harvie, German
Literature by Ursula, Fundamental Rights of the German Constitution
by Daniel.
The lessons were all good as they were extremely informative.
However, there were a few more that captured my interest. The
first being the German Educational System. Christof went through
all the steps of education in Germany, from the Hauptschule to
Tertiary Education. The fact that education is free in Germany
fascinates me. Christof has an answer to every question regarding
Germany’s Educational System.
The second class was an Intercultural Communication and the third
on the German Political System. Both these lessons were given
by Donato Tangredi. We covered topics that included the framework
of culture and different definitions of culture. These included
different notions of leadership, arrangement of the physical space
and the conception of time. I now understand the complexity of
the world and how we have to reduce it in order to survive.
The next lesson was on German history. We went throught this lesson
with the help of the knowledgable Stephan Anders. It is amazing
how much knowledge he has acquired at such an early age. Germany
has a long history that is very complex and difficult to understand.
This lesson answered the few questions that I had about German
history.
The lectures all proved that knowledge is power as it is not inherited
but acquired. I learned a great deal from every lesson.
