Tübingen-South Africa Program 2007

Let's hike...

We could not have asked for a better day to explore the sights and sounds of the forest just outside Tübingen. It was a beautiful sunny day, totally unexpected for this time of the year - but perfect for hiking.
We started our hike at the Schloss Hohentübingen, a beautiful castle situated on the perimeter of Tübingen. Looking down from the castle you can see the most breathtaking views overlooking the rooftops of Tübingen.
From the castle we marched into the forest on our way to the Wurmlinger Kapelle. Quickly you forget that you are near a town and you can only enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of the woods.
The Wurmlinger Kapelle is situated on top of a very steep hill. At the top we were treated to some much needed chocolates and biscuits, while we enjoyed the views of the surrounding villages and Black Forest in the far distance.
We ended the day by meeting Mr. Bethrum Dzonzi at the Bahnhof Unterjesingen, a lovely little restaurant at the train station. There we relaxed and stilled our hunger pains from the hike on some tasty chilli con carne. Afterwards we caught the train back to Tübingen.
Many thanks to Marion and Stephan for making the hike a truly memorable day.
