Tübingen-South Africa Program 2007

Reception at the City Hall (12/01/07)

Event Meeting the New Mayor of Tübingen (Boris Palmer)

Date:12/01/2007

Venue: Reception at the city hall

On the 12 of January 2007 we were granted the opportunity to meet a prestigious young man of high calibre and stature Mr. Boris Palmer who is the NEW Mayor of Tübingen.

It was his first day but fortunately he willed to meet us South African students and the moment was in fact.......SUPERB!!!!!!!!
The 34 year old spoke very highly of the medieval town showing the great knowledge he has of the place.
He spoke with an abundance of confidence and answered each question precisely and concisely.
He was very elaborative in his speech and informative with his talk of the town.
He showed a great deal of intelligence when he said "We (Tübingen citizens) live in a way which should not damage the future", wise words spoken by a sagacious young man, which adds up to
a prosperous city rested within good and responsible hands.

He is also a member of the Green party as well as the Parliament so I was very honoured to have spent time in his presence. He made us feel very welcomed and gave us South African students words of wisdom which we will forever instil in our thoughts and aspire to implement at our own societies in our country and become better future leaders.

Let us hope his smart image and words will correspond with his daily deeds for the stability and excellent maintenance of the Town.

GOOD LUCK MAYOR!!!

Many thanks to all those who contributed towards this session.
It was indeed an ENLIGHTENING one.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!
