To-do
list (by Xolisa)
Dear chosen
one pinch yourself several times when you get the email congratulating
you, and informing you about your participation in this programme.
This is a letter to congratulate and to inform you about several
urgent matters that need to be taken care of, to insure that your
preparation is successful.
If you are
not in possession of a valid South African passport get one soon,
it does not take that long to get a hold of one it takes about
two weeks (for the temporary and about six months for the official
one), but you have to go and fetch it from the Home Affairs office
of your region/town/city when it is ready.
Read your
mail on a day to day basis to keep in touch with the group leader
and the organiser of events on the South African front.
Open a bank account and start saving for the trip. When you land
on German soil you will want to travel and see what the country
has to offer. They have an efficient transport system you will
get where you want to; when you want to go there and most importantly
you will get to your desired destination on time.
This year legend has it that this has been the mildest of German
winters, in simple words it was not that cold. That does not mean
that the same will go for next year, the following winter might
be the coldest in years.
1. Bring a nice coat with you just in case mild turns to nasty.
2. Socks and comfortable shoes are important; add to that list
jerseys, and pants.
3. If you want to utilise your money exclusively for the purposes
of travel, bring along with you several flu remedies i.e. pills
and some fluids that will aid in a speedy recovery.
