Information about the Program

To kick off a collaborative program between the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and our Cluster of Excellence “Machine Learning: New Perspectives for Science”, the two institutions partnered to launch a  four-year collaboration (2022-2025), the Data Science & AI Fellowship Program.

The fellowship program is structured as follows:   

AIMS is running the MSc program “Machine Intelligence“, which is focused entirely on ML and AI. Towards the end of this MSc program, candidates for the fellowship program will be nominated by AIMS. Selected through a competitive application process, promising AIMS alumni will be offered a fully funded 6-month research fellowship with a group affiliated with our Cluster in Tübingen. Each fellowship will be co-supervised by an AIMS faculty member. For this program, we will offer 5 spots / year.
Towards the end of the six-month stay in Tübingen, very successful applicants may have the opportunity to expand the research project in a subsequent doctoral thesis.
