New Junior Research Group Leader for Intersection 5

Dr. Nicole Tieben joins Intersection "Education, Life Course Development, and Social Disparities"

Since March 1st, Dr. Nicole Tieben is the new Junior Research Group Leader for Intersection 5 "Education, Life Course Development, and Social Disparities" in LEAD.

Most recently, she was a research fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research and Principal Investigator in the DFG-funded project "Educational and Occupational Careers of Tertiary Education Drop-outs". Nicole Tieben studied sociology, German and English at the Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf. She received her PhD in Social Inequality in Educational Transitions at the Interuniversity Centre for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS), Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands.

In her research, Nicole Tieben focuses on social stratification and mobility, sociology of education, education-to-work-transitions and intergenerational transfers.
