Research Interests

My research encompasses a wide array of subjects, including diverse vertebrate groups from different geological time periods. My focus lies in the study of large mammals from Eurasia, shedding light on their taxonomy, ecology, and evolution. For this purpose, I combine the classical description of fossils with μCT-data and phylogenetic analyses. My current projects mainly concern the study of rhinos and chalicotheres from the Miocene. The subject of my PhD is the taxonomic re-evaluation of the European representatives of the hornless rhino genus Chilotherium, and the study of phylogenetic relationships and the biogeography of the genus overall.
