This is one of several questions which speaker Carola Lorea addresses in the co-edited volume "CoronAsur: Asian Religions in the Covidian Age". This Global Encounters Lecture will be held as a book launch together with the Co-Editors who will participate via Zoom.

Biological invasions are among the most serious threats to biodiversity because they disrupt ecosystem processes and function. In her talk, Ramona-Elena Irimia introduces data collected on hundreds of herbarium specimens of Japanese knotweed to reconstruct the species’ invasion history and evolutionary changes associated with invasiveness.

In his talk Professor Ali Asghar Mosleh discusses the relation between human and the Earth in terms of their physical/natural and theoretical/metaphorical aspects. With reference to philosophers such as Nietzsche and Heidegger, he will explore the gaps and challenges between philosophical attitude and technical attitude, encouraging reflection on the future of the Earth by relying on philosophical methods and traditions.
