Université Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD), also known as the University of Dakar, is a public university in Dakar, Senegal. In 1987, its name was changed to honor the Senegalese philosopher and anthropologist, Cheikh Anta Diop. It is one of the largest and most prestigious university in French West Africa, with over 60,000 students across fields of science and technology, medicine and pharmacy, languages and human sciences, education and training, and law and political sciences. The university awards the degrees: B.A., B.S., Ph.D., and D.M.A.’s. UCAD comprise of a diverse body of students coming from numerous countries and have given notable alumni over the years.
