Bridging research and practice: Interactive workshop with hkp/// group

On June 20, 2024 about 20 Master students travelled to Frankfurt/Main for an interactive, hands-on workshop with hkp///group. The workshop was part of a module on the Gender Pay Gap that was jointly organized by Patrick Kampkötter and Kerstin Pull and that aimed at bridging research and practice.

Before going to Frankfurt, students had prepared a variety of topics on the gender pay gap, such as decomposition methods, the drivers of the gender pay gap and the effects of pay transparency and regulation.

During the workshop, the representatives from hkp/// group provided valuable input on the regulatory framework and investor expectations, the hkp///group Fair Pay approach and how to get from the unadjusted to the adjusted gender pay gap. Also, students and practitioners discussed measures to close the gender pay gap.

Our thanks go to Jennifer Schulz, Verena Vandervelt and Michael Haas for inviting us and for helping us bridge research and practice in a most fruitful way.
