Research Interests

Data Plane Programming allows developers to define high-speed packet processing and forwarding logic on soft- and hardware. This enables the development and testing of new networking protocols or modifications to existing protocols in realistic environments.

Relevant Technologies: P4, eBPF, XDP

Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a set of standards that enables Ethernet networks to transmit both real-time traffic with high quality of service requirements and best-effort traffic. The resulting tool-set includes time synchronization, packet scheduling and rate monitoring. As TSN allows to transmit real-time and best-effort traffic over a single network, it is especially relevant for factory automation and in-vehicle networks.

Satellite Networking considers the difficult task of transmitting data over satellite constellations. Especially Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations promise low delay communication from any place on earth. However, their realization requires managing a complex and dynamic network of Inter-Satellite Links (ISL) with limited processing resources.

Relevant Technologies: SNS-3, Mininet, P4
