Talk @ NIP by Martin Lages on Wednesday, May 6th, 11:00 hrs
Title of his talk: "On the Highs and Lows of Visual Perception"
Abstract:
Basic sensory visual performance of human observers does not only depend on the optics of the eyes and early sensory encoding but also on subsequent cortical processing and recurrent feedback. In two parts I will show that (i) illusory enlargement and shrinkage of a visual stimulus after adaptation to motion systematically affects visual acuity and (ii) binocular 3D motion perception can be understood as Bayesian inference combining motion and dynamic disparity input at a relatively late processing stage.
