Religious Feelings: The Importance of Feelings for Religious Beliefs

From Octo­ber 25th to 26th our sec­ond inter­dis­ci­pli­nary work­shop on reli­gious feel­ings will take place at the Uni­ver­sity of Tübin­gen. This time, the focus will be on the rela­tion between (reli­gious) feel­ings and reli­gious beliefs. Ques­tions dis­cussed will include the fol­low­ing: Are reli­gious feel­ings capa­ble of jus­ti­fy­ing reli­gious beliefs? Are reli­gious feel­ings a pre­req­ui­site for the aqui­si­tion of cer­tain reli­gious beliefs? Or, con­versely, are reli­gious beliefs a pre­req­ui­site for expe­ri­enc­ing cer­tain reli­gious feel­ings? The work­shop will take place in the “Fürsten­z­im­mer” of the cas­tle Hohen­tübin­gen (Burg­steige 11) and is funded by the John Tem­ple­ton Foun­da­tion (Ana­lytic The­ol­ogy Project Inns­bruck).
