Personal data processed Personal data is sometimes collected when datasets are downloaded from the repository, depending on the access restrictions of the dataset: 
  • Datasets that are publicly available do not require any credentials and no personal data is processed.
  • Datasets that are available only for academic use will require you to log in through your academic Home Organization.
    The following personal information is fetched from the Identity Provider server of your academic Home Organisation each time you log in to the service, if your Home Organization provides it: 
    • name
    • email address
    • affiliation
    • unique ID to identify the user
  • Datasets for which a signed license is needed will require you to enter the                                 credentials (username and password) that were provided to you when you signed the license. The following personal information is stored on the server: 
    • login name
    • password (encypted)
Purpose of the processing of personal data  Personal data and log files are used by the service for: 
  • user authorization
  • working out technical problems and investigating abuse of the service
  • statistics and development of the service
Third parties to whom personal data is disclosed Personal data is not disclosed to anyone outside of the local repository team.
How to access, rectify and delete the personal data For those accessing data with their academic Home Orgainization credentials, no personal data is directly stored. To rectify the data released by your academic Home Organization (Identity Provider), contact your Home Organization's IT helpdesk.
Those providing credentials to download datasets should use the technical contact above for any requests to change or delete credentials.
Data retention Personal data are not stored for longer than three months in log files.
